about

A personal and sublime record, the seeds of which were carefully planted and watered over the course of a year by artist Margot George. Weaving together paradoxical notions of spiritual practice, gender identity, and the historico-geographical, the New York based artist creates deeply personal and resonant works.

Dichotomies permeate the record as sonic manifestations, resulting in a combination of creeping, minimalist organ and ambient soundscapes that illustrate the minutiae of digital and analog mediums. Organ, field recordings, and found sounds are punctuated by guitar and autoharp to create ethereal and incorporeal renderings of our physical plane of existence.

This record disposes of a vast swath of Margot’s conservatory education in favor of a revelatory music that evokes feelings of loss, joy, and surrender. The record is an invitation to wade in waters of not only ritual and ceremony, but the mundane as a meditative comfort.
